Happy New Year!! I'm so happy to have you with me this year!

Today, we draw the winners of the Modern Lopi and Spillyjane Knits Mittens ebooks!

For the first time in 10 years, I managed to set more realistic expectations of my time and didn't do any last minute (or any at all!) Christmas knitting.  I was surprised with the amount of guilt I felt about this, but in the end it just wasn't realistic.

The days leading up to Christmas were spent knitting projects I truly enjoyed, and enjoyed even more knowing there was no deadline.

Here was one of my holiday highlights - I am still up several times a night to feed Emily (she's only 2 months old, so this is to be expected), but I found the Tin Can Knits 12 Days of Christmas giveaway took a bit of the sting out of the night feedings.  The pattern would be released at midnight, and I found myself eagerly awaiting Emily's wake-up so I could check to see which pattern they were giving away!  I snagged every single one of their giveaway patterns between 1-3 am.

I hope you had a great holiday!

  • A trip to the Sweet Georgia Studio (finally picked up my October-December 2015 club fiber - sort of...).

{hand spinning}

Zzzzzz...no actual spinning really, other than a test spin of some romney/texel, but a few acquisitions and talk about a gorgeous gift from my friend Rachel of Welford Purls and the Wool 'n Spinning Podcast.  I know I've said this before, but if you're a spinner, you need to check her out.  She's also the new spinning teacher at the Sweet Georgia Studio!!  Congrats Rachel!
